Stay
Each one has a kitchen and a terrace nobody else crosses. Two of them cook outdoors, under a roof of their own. By evening the steam stands on the water and the garden gets loud.
Four units stand in one garden of tall trees, above Playa Grande at Cahuita. They sit far apart. The pool and the kitchen beside it are shared. The rest stays with one unit.
The pool runs 8 metres by 4, flat at 1.35 metres, with a bench sunk into one corner.
The units carry Bribri names for animals that live here, taken from the University of Costa Rica's dictionaries with Bribri speakers.

The pool sits between the house and the suites, under the tall trees. Beside it, one roof shelters the shared kitchen and the lounge. Each terrace and each jacuzzi serves one unit alone.
Eight metres of flat water in the shade of the garden. The lounge next to it keeps out of the sun most of the day.
One more kitchen stands under that roof, with a barbecue. Any guest can cook there.
A small space to exercise in, off the lounge. It keeps the shade through the morning.
Bikes for the road into Cahuita. Snorkel masks, surfboards and bodyboards to borrow for Playa Grande.
Beside the kitchen: jam, honey and chillies from around here, repellent for after dusk, crafts made locally. Our own t-shirts and mugs sit on the same shelf.
A sauna and a cold plunge, beside the pool. The cold one comes second.
